Dave's railroad career began in 1978 with the Maintenance of Way for the Burlington Northern Railroad. In 1987 he changed crafts, working as a brakeman, switchman and conductor. From 1990 until his retirement in 2008, Dave worked as an engineer.

Following retirement, he joined the firm on July 1, 2008, as an Investigator covering northern Minnesota and Eastern North Dakota. Dave enjoys all sports, and is a fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Twins and Wild.
